APCAS Conventions and Seminar-Workshops (1976-2007)

The Association of Philippine Colleges of Arts and Sciences was founded at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1976 in a national seminar on general education organized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS). Deans of colleges of arts and sciences from all over the country came and called for the organization of a national association of arts and sciences deans. Thus APCAS was born and Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, SJ of Ateneo was elected as the founding president of the association.

In 2001, APCAS was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as "Asosasyon sa Pilipinas ng mga Colehiyo ng Agham at Sining, Inc."
